A newspaper designed for a class with Debra Bishop. Able to choose our own topic, I selected “Little Life” - a look into life at the micro level. We had to gather our content and create all of our own “imagery” without using actual images - no photographs or illustrations allowed - only type and symbols. It was a great challenge.

Some fun details were the undersized drop caps, making the type on the cover out of wingdings, and creating a type illustration across one spread with the CO2 being released above an article on the dangers of permafrost melting, and then transforming to O2 above the article on microbes that help with climate change. The “poo pill” was made of germ and poop symbols and emojis.
